Current activities. 2008 September 12th: "ODBOY & ERORDOG, EPISODE 1", an abstract cartoon with electronic music, will be premiered at Fylkingen, Stockholm, Sweden. July: Provides original music for David Firth's surreal stop motion film "Crooked Orcus Rot". June 28th: Bernd Behr's "House Without a Door" (featuring original music by Marcus Fjellström) shown at the H.D.T.S Summer Event in Joshua Tree, California, USA. April 3rd, 4th, 6th: "House of False Things" for chamber ensemble and electronic music is performed by Norrbotten NEO in Luleå, Härnösand and Malmö, Sweden. April 1st: "House of False Things" for chamber ensemble and electronic music is premiered by Norrbotten NEO at Studio Acusticum, Piteå, Sweden. 2007 November 9th -- December 7th: "Degenerator" is performed by the Stockholm Royal Court Orchestra as part of a new dance work choreographed by Gunnlaugur Egilsson. Ten performances at the Royal Swedish Opera House in Stockholm. October 20th: "Doloroso" for 16-part mixed choir a cappella, is premiered by the Erik Westberg Vocal Ensemble (also commission). Two additional performances on the 21st (in Luleå) and the 22nd (in Piteå). October 5th: [CANCELLED. September 8th -- October 13th: Bernd Behr's "House Without a Door" (featuring original music by Marcus Fjellström) exhibited at e-raum in Cologne, Germany. July 28th: Marcus Fjellström performs at the Norberg Festival 07 as part of the GEIGER showcase. May 31st: Audiovisual live performance at Klubb GEIGER, Gothenburg, featuring projections by Liam Frankland and Aron Hidman. April: A new piece for chamber ensemble and electronics has been commissioned by conductor Petter Sundkvist for the NEO ensemble for contemporary music. February: Swedish music magazine "Groove" publishes an article on Marcus Fjellström in their 1/2007 issue. 2006 December: Provides music for the Baris Azman short film "L'uomo che ha provato ad uccidere". November: Recipient of the Rosenborg-Gehrmans Composition Grant. November 7th -- December 17th: Bernd Behr's "House Without a Door" (featuring original music by Marcus Fjellström) exhibited on a large screen projection at Chisenhale Gallery, London. November: A new full-length album, "Gebrauchsmusik", released by Lampse Audiovisual Recordings. September: Commissioned by Bernd Behr and Film London to compose a soundtrack for the experimental film "House Without a Door". August 31st: "Degenerator" premiered in Sundsvall by the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Christian Lindberg. May: Provides music for the David Firth animation "Men From Up the Stairs". May: Awarded a grant to work on a chamber opera project with writer Daniel Pedersen. March: Initiates a collaboration with british photographer and filmmaker Liam Frankland.. Feb-May: Produces electroacoustic interpretations for compositions by Aron Hidman. 2005 July 8th: Full length CD album, "Exercises in Estrangement", released by Lampse Audiovisual Recordings. June: "Lucid Counterpoint" completed -- an experimental short film with video art by Aron Hidman. June: Completes postgraduate composition studies at the School of Music in Piteå and graduates with honors. February 4th & 5th: "Infallible" performed in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland, by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. 2004 November: 7" single ("Thallein: Untitled") released on Swedish label White Noise Records. November 19th: "I, Vulgarian" for chamber orchestra and live electronics performed at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Sweden. October 10th: "Giger Conceptions" (inspired by four works of H.R. Giger), premiered in Östersund, Sweden by Östersunds Orkesterförening. October 3rd: "Infallible" premiered in Örebro, Sweden, by the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. August 19th: "Campane morti e acqua crescente" performed at the UNM festival in Norrköping, Sweden. August: Completes the score for "Anna och kråkan", a short film by Hanna-Olivia Knuutila. June: Completes the score for "Det var en gång en prins...", a short film by cinematographer Anna Paulsson. June 28th: "Campane morti e acqua crescente" performed at Akva Upplevelsecentrum outside Piteå, Sweden. January: "Silver Mansion Trauma" is performed by Carmen Chan in Melbourne, Australia. 2003 September: "Silver Mansion Trauma" is performed by Eirik Raude at the UNM festival in Oslo. June: Completes the score for Baris Azman's short film "Efendi". May: "Berenice" is premiered in Finland. April: Completes the score for Daniel Hartoog's short film "Dead Ends". February: Starts work on phonogram project "Bruksmusik (Utility Music / Gebrauchsmusik)". January: Completes "Berenice", a song cycle for soprano, string quartet and string orchestra. 2002 November: "Silver Mansion Trauma" is premiered by Don Nichols in Chicago, USA. October: Starts work on a piano duo with fellow composer Aron Hidman. September: Completes "Silver Mansion Trauma". April: Starts work on "Silver Mansion Trauma" - a concert piece for solo percussion and electronics, to be performed by San Diego-based percussionist Don Nichols. June: "Showroom Wound" is premiered by Agneta Andersson, Ingela Lundin and Frida Uneback in Piteå, Sweden. March: Completes a 6 minute chamber trio entitled "Showroom Wound". 2001 December: Starts musical involvment in a feature film project helmed by director/producer Jac Rytterholm. November: Completes a 9 minute electroacoustic work entitled "Campane morti e acqua crescente". September: Back from Prague. |
